We manufacture audiophile loudspeakers for the rhythms of life
From the inception of Role Audio in 1999, our goal has been to manufacture loudspeakers that deliver the performance of large loudspeakers in the smallest possible designs. Based on our vision of what the 21st Century loudspeaker should be, we set out to use the latest technology, drivers, crossover parts, and materials to deliver big speaker performance in the smallest possible cabinet designs.
In our era, advanced technology has allowed the production of high quality "pocketable" consumer electronics that deliver high levels of performance and ease of use, but, in general, loudspeaker design has not followed suit. We are at the forefront of designing and manufacturing loudspeakers that deliver large speaker performance in the smallest and most environmentally friendly, and health friendly, designs.
Role Audio is an affiliate of NSMT Loudspeakers (formerly NSM Audio) that pioneered the development of high quality, small American made, minimonitor loudspeakers with the introduction of the Model 10S and Model 5 in the early 1990s. Based on NSMT's research and experience, Role Audio was tasked with developing a series of elegant, small, timbre matched loudspeakers that would deliver truly astonishing performance for their size and price.
In designing and developing our loudspeakers we take all the principles that form the holy grail of loudspeaker performance into consideration. As a result we have designed our loudspeakers to be time coherent, minimum phase, point source or quasi point source, one-way and two-way acoustic suspension and transmission line loudspeakers.
At first blush, the simple elegance of our cabinet designs may not hint at the sophisticated research, proprietary technology, and unique production methods used to manufacture our loudspeakers. However, our designs turn on our pioneering work, such as our fresh approach to transmission line design that is evident in the designs of such speakers as the Sampan FTL that weighs four pounds but has a band width of 25 Hz to 20 kHz, and the Enterprise that pioneers the first use of dual transmission lines. Our Sampan mini tower loudspeakers that is four inches wide and four inches deep, simply could not be made without our pioneering manufacturing methods.
Because our loudspeakers are designed to explore music, each speaker is named after a ship: the Skiff, the Sampan, Sampan DTL, Sampan FTL, the Kayak, Canoe, and Windjammer are named for water borne ships and the Discovery, Enterprise, and Starship are named for space ships.
Notwithstanding our devotion to designing technically sophisticated loudspeakers, we realize loudspeakers occupy precious living spaces as furniture. Therefore we pay attention to designing beautiful loudspeakers that will grace your living space with unrivaled elegance and simplicity.
If you love music and space and care for the environment and your health, you will appreciate our loudspeakers. They are technologically sophisticated, environmentally and health friendly, and impart an aura of elegant simplicity. As we say, Role Audio loudspeakers are designed "for the rhythms of life."
Whether you need loudspeakers for a stereo system or to complement the latest flat screen TV home theater system, you will find that our loudspeakers offer the best value and performance in the smallest, most elegant, environmentally friendly and health friendly package your money can buy.
